Hi, I’m David Montgomery the founder of Goanserve.
I have spent over 40 years of my professional life working with people in various settings.
In a nutshell, Goanserve reflects the desire in my heart to see people equipped for life through learning and personal growth; inspired to become who they were created to be and mobilised to go and serve others to make a difference in the world.
Goanserve was officially launched as a Social Enterprise in 2018. However, prior to this we began taking volunteers to India in 2005 to support the children’s charity, El Shaddai Child Rescue. As a Social Enterprise we support our overseas projects in India and Ghana through the revenue we create. Our vision is to reach out to other nations providing young people in disadvantaged countries the same opportunities as those here in Northern Ireland.
By combining my career in Youth Work and Social Work with my passion for football, I was driven by my faith, to do something that would count. As a result a Football Academy was set up in India and currently we are doing the same in Ghana.
The Goanserve Football Assessment Centre will provide a unique opportunity for promising young footballers to fulfil their potential and give them a genuine chance of playing professional football.

Our “Open Trials” gives you the chance to show your ability and earn the opportunity of being invited to our “Mastering the Game” one day project and selected to play against a professional academy team.
“Mastering the Game” is our one day project where we assess your technical ability. Selection to play against a professional academy team is made at this stage..
The “Football Assessment Centre” aims to develop young football players who are not only skilled on the pitch but also well-rounded individuals with a genuine opportunity of playing professional football.
